LARRY BARRON
In 2008, his successes lead to the opening of Barron Hockey Academy training facility. Offering on-ice development, clinics, camps, and team training, Barron Hockey Academy has become one of the most unique all inclusive hockey development centers in Southern California. Larry’s reputation of being ‘one of the best in hockey development’ has given him the opportunity to train thousands of players throughout Southern California, nationally and internationally. The knowledge, atmosphere and culture at BHA is what brings players back season after season, during and in between. Players that return year after year range from Mites to Midgets, Prep School, Major Junior A, Tier II Junior A, NCAA DIV I and III, Pro and National Hockey League. Larry’s constant support and dedication to his players has helped and continues to flourish many careers.
Since 2008, Larry has had the opportunity to coach four seasons at the Tier level for OCHC and Jr. Ducks organizations. Two of those teams, 16U AA and 18U AAA, he lead to National Championship appearances. Having coached at the Tier level inspired him to find a way to develop and be more involved with the grass root levels.
In 2013, Larry was given the opportunity to be the skating consultant for the NHL Anaheim Ducks’ prospect camp. The coaches, as well as the players took a liking to Larry’s approach and he is currently the Skating and Skill Development Coach. Larry has fully embraced this opportunity and it has taken his teaching and understanding of the game to a whole new level.
