Barron Hockey is proud to announce the NEW In-house Skills Camp. This camp will be built around the American Development Model and the "FUN"DAMENTALS of the game of hockey. The curriculum of the skills camp is just that, "skills". Skills will consist of skating, shooting, passing, and team building in a very high energy, positive atmosphere. Players will be surrounded by a very knowledgeable group of hockey specialists that understand how important the foundation of skill development is in order to build confidence and never be afraid to make mistakes. Every ice session will be built around goal setting, having a fun and competitive atmosphere, and daily challenges that will have players competing against each other and as a team. This will  keep players sharp and excited. Our goal is to have players leave each day with the "I cant wait to come back tomorrow" attitude.

Like every camp at Barron Hockey, there will be fantastic on-ice management and absolutely no standing around. We have the best instructor to student ratio in the business; there will be 7-9 instructors on the ice at every ice session!!  Off ice will be conducted in the Barron Hockey Training Facility and players will go through two separate workouts per day.

Hockey Specific Training

On our 25' x 50' shooting specific rink, young players will be taught from the ground up on shooting skills.  Our hockey specialists will monitor shot speed and accuracy with a pre and post camp evaluation. There will also be a competition at the end of the week on hardest wrist shot and back hand shot.
Players will also experience the skating treadmill with Dartfish.  Players will be put through a number of exercises on the treadmill throughout the week all inclusive of stride analysis with Dartfish video analysis, stick handling, balance, and speed work will all be worked on in a very safe and fun environment.
Not only will players be able to learn shooting skills on the shooting rink, but the lessons will be incorporated with reaction pods.  Players will develop quick feet and heads up hockey; players will be challenged against the clock and fellow players to achieve the quickest times, while still focusing on proper form and technique.

Off Ice S.A.Q Training

In order to become a better hockey player, players need to become a better athlete.  Players will be put in a fun and organized setting, working on the "fun"damentals of proper speed agility, quickness, body mechanics, multi-tasking, balance, multi-directional movements, static movements, and team building. Our head trainer Chris Martin and support staff, who have worked with players from mites to professionals, will build daily programs that will have players excited and asking for more!!

Instructors and Counselors

The uniqueness and strength of Barron Hockey Academy's programs are the instructors. I truly believe that Barron Hockey Academy has some of the best teachers and people involved in building a strong foundation to become not only a good player but a good person. Many of my instructors have been through the Barron Hockey Program and are currently playing; 70% of my staff is playing NCAA, JR. A, and Prep School Hockey.  They are becoming great educators of the game to the Barron Hockey Academy students.  They are able to teach players that their own success has been built around attitude, work ethic, discipline, and sacrifice.  We also have some of the best developers already coaching players with many years of experience within the Southern California hockey community.  During this camp, players will be monitored 100% of the time. Barron Hockey Academy will have dedicated off ice counselors that will have a detailed set of responsibilities including helping players learn Barron Hockey Academy curriculum both on and off the ice, dressing room conduct, group movement from event to event, an attendace checklist that will be monitored continually throughout the day, and many other details that will put campers in a very safe and fun environment.
